Our first club meeting of the year approaches! As I said in my last email, It is this Thursday, January 28th @ 7:00 PM in SB 185, Just like last semester. If you need help getting there, let me know, I have images to guide you to it.
At the club meeting we will be doing a couple things. First, we will go through all the things I went through in my last email about the new semester as well as walking through some new website features.
Second, Riot is giving the LoL Clubs some love! they are hosting 1v1 tournaments at universities across the country. Check out this flyer for details!

As it says, We will be playing 1v1 Marksman only battles. We are allowed to host 3 tournaments between now and the 15th of February. The first 2 will both be at our club meeting. The third's information will be released at the club meeting.
For our 2 tournaments, there will be a high ELO and a low ELO bracket to make it fair for all players. This means that if you finished in Gold Plat Diamond Master or challenger last season, You will play in one tournament, and Unranked, Bronze, and Silver. If you did not play any ranked last season but were lvl 30, you will be placed appropriately according to how many normal wins you have.
ANY SMURFS WILL BE IMMEDIATELY BANNED FROM TOURNAMENTS THE REST OF THE YEAR. DON'T TRY IT.
If you have won prizing for any other club event this year, you are not eligible for top 4 prizing for these 2 tournaments. We can't have the best players stomping us all year and taking all the prizes (I'm looking at you Gigamomo). This does not include tournament play (Jak-O-LAN, Battle for Indiana I, Christmas Tournament)
Lastly, Don't forget about our Tournament Survey on our website. We are giving you the rights to voice your opinions so that we can make our tournaments better for everyone. If we get limited feedback, we won't be able to use it properly.
I hope to see you all there this Thursday!
Welcome back! I hope everyone's semester is starting off great. This covers a lot of content but it is all very important. Skim with caution.
-After ~1/25, lol-ipfw.com will become LOLIPFW.com. RIP dash 2016.
With the new semester comes more LOL IPFW Club Meetings. This semester's meetings are on 1/28, 2/16, 2/17, 2/18 (See Constitution clean up), 3/10, 3/24. and 4/21. All Thursday meetings are at 7:00 PM in SB 185 just like last semester. We apologize if you always schedule classes during this time, but it seems to fit best for everyone's schedule. Last semester we found the new room very functional. We’re aware of occasional issues with IPFW’s wifi, so we’ll have the club router on hand just in case.
First Club Meeting
At our first club meeting on January 28th at 7:00 in SB 185, we will be bringing everyone up to speed on what's coming this semester in order to get everyone settled back in with League of legends. This first meet up will be normal 5s so we can try out the new draft with friends. Nothing big, just a standard club meeting to get the semester off right.
Over the duration of LOL-IPFW, it has been our privilege to have host several tournaments for you guys. We are still relatively new at this and frankly, we still aren’t quite sure what is optimal for everyone. As such, nothing would mean more to us than some feedback on how we’re doing, what we should do different, etc. We’ve posted a survey on our website regarding the many facets of tournaments, and we’d appreciate hearing from you about it. (Paragraph written by Ben Harruff)
Constitution Clean Up
Along with the 2/18 club meeting, we will be "cleaning house." This means that we will be enforcing our membership policies.
What this means for you: If you want to be an official club member, you must show up to 1 of 3 club meetings on the week of 2/15. These meetings will be various times and lengths to hopefully accommodate everyone's busy schedule. All you have to do is show up then leave. Feel free to hang out if you want though.
What this means for us: We need to change our outdated constitution. There are a lot of flaws and Articles we have not been following since the foundation of our club. When is was founded, we were all naive. Now we know what needs to be taken out and put in to run a fun and competitive club. If you have any questions about this process or want to see our constitution feel free to ask, there is a lot I have left out here that many do not want to read.
With a new year comes new events! We have 3 events planned this semester and 1 next semester. As the events get closer we will provide more information, but here is a little teaser list:
Lots of big things coming! I hope you come out to meetings and events and share them with us.
